ELMETHERM efforts in R&D:
Within the CETIAT, Elmetherm, as a member of the research committee, has successfully contributed to a project on the optimisation of drying processes.
The content of the oven project:
An Elmetherm customer in the construction industry placed an order for a tunnel oven for drying building materials. The amount of water to be evaporated is > 250 kg/h in relation to a mass processed in the oven of approx. 4t/h. The drying temperature is approx. 350 °C.
Custom oven solution with energy saving :
The oven to be designed and delivered by Elmetherm is equipped with two gas burners (2x 1000 kW/h). In order to reduce the energy consumption, it was decided to equip the installation with an air-air exchanger. With this component, the extracted air (from the process) at approx. 300 °C is mixed with incoming air (from outside) at room temperature.
Recycled process air flow:
The third air stream recovered in this way has a temperature of approx. 200 °C; it is returned to the plant and reduces the power required to preheat the air and thus the energy consumption compared to a conventional plant. The customer recovers and reduces his energy consumption by approx. 2 x 150 kW/h.
