ELMETHERM rewarded with a new order:
A key account and automotive Tier 1 supplier for electric car manufacturers has commissioned Elmetherm to develop and build a vertical tray oven.
OBC for ELECTRIC CARS:
OBC – which means: “Onboard Charger” – is an integral part of the electric car; it recuperates energy (home plug), converts it into a usable current for the electric vehicle and transfers it to the BMS (battery management system). Charging has to be done quickly and safely, without damaging the batteries.
VERTICAL OVEN with trays:
The vertical tray oven has the function of curing the resinous protective layers applied to the electronic components of the OBC.
The vertical oven has 3 zones:
–preheating zone
–curing zone
–cooling zone.
The parts will be loaded and unloaded by a robot onto trays; these trays are conveyed upstream of the oven by means of a turntable.
The oven is planned to be delivered before the end of 2023 for a production site in North America.
